Sony is one of the biggest names in home audio with a wide selection of top-tier sound gear, including Bluetooth speakers, home theater surround sound equipment, and, of course, headphones. The consumer electronics company just released their latest prime wireless headphones and partnered with recording artist Post Malone, as brand ambassador.
Now available, the new Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones are priced at $448 on Amazon and $449.99 at Best Buy. They’re the company’s latest high-end noise-canceling headphones and an upgrade from the previous model, the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones —which were released in 2022 and currently on sale for $348 (reg. $399) on Amazon.

The Sony WH-1000XM6 headphones have enhanced noise-canceling features powered by the electronic company’s QN3 processor for faster blocking of background and ambient noise around you. This is, in part, thanks to 12 microphones — compared to eight with the older WH-1000XM5 — placed through the headphones (six per ear cup) to deliver deeper noise cancelation and crystal clear phone calls when paired with a smartphone.
Meanwhile, the wireless headphones have Sony’s 360 Reality Audio Upmix settings for precision studio-level audio with immersive and cinematic listening. They’re designed with a wider headband for better comfort for long listening sessions.
The headphones include a new magnetic case that’s slimmer and more portable, while they also have a foldable design, which is a return to form from the Sony WH-1000XM4 and Sony WH-1000XM3, for easier travel.
Starting at $448, the Sony WH-1000XM6 Headphones are available right now on Amazon and Best Buy.
